On 8 March, Twipes cofounder Elle McIntosh joined Jason Cavness for an episode of his podcast, “The Jason Cavness Experience.”

Cavness is also the founder of CavnessHR — a platform that delivers human resources services to small businesses. His motto, and the motto of the podcast, is to “be great every day.”

Elle spoke with Cavness about the origin of Twipes, self care, the differences between creativity in childhood and adulthood, artificial intelligence, innovation and much more. She also gave advice to anyone looking to begin their own startup.

“Talk to people, let them know what your idea is,” she said. “You do not have to go into detail. A lot of people say, ‘Oh, I’m afraid someone’s going to steal my idea.’ No one cares. No one cares. If you turn around and say, ‘I’m doing this,’ they’ll say, ‘That’s great,” they’re not going to invest the time into exactly what you’re doing.”

While in Washington state for Seattle’s Reverse Vendor Trade Show in November, Elle also made her way to the city of Tacoma, where she joined a panel Cavness hosted at the city’s Startup Week, called “Startup Founders: It is not all unicorns and rainbows.” The panel also included LeapSheep founder Sarah Bell, Operation Red Dot founder James Marszalek and Give InKind founder Laura Malcolm at the event.
