Embracing growth: Welcoming interns into our Summer 2024 workspace

This year marks an exciting chapter for our company, as we integrate fresh perspectives and energy into our workplace and welcome back previous ones, fostering a dynamic environment where learning and growth go hand-in-hand.

As Twipes enters the vibrant summer season, our company is not only gearing up for warmer weather, but we’re also eagerly preparing to welcome a new wave of talent: our 2024 summer interns.

This year marks an exciting chapter for our company, as we integrate fresh perspectives and energy into our workplace and welcome back previous ones, fostering a dynamic environment where learning and growth go hand-in-hand.

The Twipes team’s passions for mentoring and helping young people with their career development shine through, as they welcome four new interns for this season: Madison Batiz, Ari Klein, Makayla Martin and Ava Steiner, as well as welcoming back Elizabeth Dodman and Tabitha Raithel — last years interns — to full-time roles with Twipes.

Inviting interns into our new office this summer aims to create a nurturing environment where curiosity thrives. Our interns will have the opportunity to engage in real-world projects, collaborate with seasoned professionals and gain insights into the inner workings of the wet wipe industry. In addition, our interns bring diverse backgrounds, ideas and perspectives to the table. Embracing this diversity enriches our creative process, sparking innovative solutions to challenges, old and new. Moreover, internships are about more than just the work — they are about building relationships and fostering mentorship. We are committed to providing our interns with guidance and support as they navigate their professional journey.

Meet our interns

Madison Batiz: Madison is our new market research intern. She is a participant in the WNY Sophomore Externship Experience hosted by The University at Buffalo. She is currently studying statistics at UB. With a background in statistics, she hopes to get into data science in the future. Some fun facts about Madison include her love of painting in her free time, listening to various kinds of music, hanging out with friends, and taking a day out on the town whenever she gets the chance. In addition, she enjoys teaching herself how to code, visiting her mom’s house in California, and spending time with her family as much as possible.

Ari Klein: Ari is our new sales intern. He is also a participant in the UB’s WNY Sophomore Externship Experience. He enjoys going to the gym, playing Pokémon, and reading in his free time. He also likes learning about history. At his school, The University at Albany, he is part of the Living History club, in which he does historical fencing, with and without night armor, and historical crafts. In addition, Ari is also very involved with the Jewish community at school and is the student president of the UAlbany Chabad chapter, Shabbos House. “I’m very glad to be back in Buffalo this summer, so I can spend more time with my family and visit my girlfriend in Toronto,” Ari said.

Makayla Martin: Makayla is our new marketing intern. She enjoys reading, learning, spending time with friends and family, and traveling, especially to Europe! She is an enthusiast for everything business. In 2020, Makayla started her own online tie-dye clothing business and is working on her own non-profit to find a solution to period poverty in developing countries. At her high school, she is passionate about running her three clubs: Community Club, Pickleball Club, Green Key Club, and soon to be Women in Business Club. In addition, she enjoys playing and captaining the Girls Varsity Golf and Tennis team.

Ava Steiner: Ava is our new graphic design intern. She was referred to Twipes by our digital marketing associate Elizabeth Dodman. Ava loves trying different art mediums, including collating, painting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and digital art. She spends her free time having picnics with friends, trying to keep all her plants alive, and learning about cryptids like Bigfoot and Nessie. At school, she helps run clubs that teach people how to knit, crochet, and basic metalworking skills. In addition, Ava loves trying new recipes and seasonal snacks from Trader Joe’s.

As we embark on this journey with our interns, Twipes is filled with excitement and anticipation for the possibilities that lie ahead. Their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives invigorate us, reminding us of the limitless potential within our team and company. This summer, we are not just opening our doors to the interns — we are opening our hearts and minds to new ideas, new connections, and new opportunities. Together, we are creating a workplace where everyone has the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. Here’s to a summer filled with collaboration, innovation, and meaningful experiences.
