In the heart of Europe lies Vienna, a city known for its vibrant startup scene and commitment to innovation. Because Twipes is a forward-thinking startup focusing on sustainability, the team recently embarked on an exciting journey to the Austrian capital to participate in two pivotal programs: the Vienna Startup Package and ViennaUP.

Vienna Startup Package: Empowering Growth and Innovation

Facilitated by the Vienna Business Agency (VBA), the Vienna Startup Package is tailored to support international startups looking to establish themselves within Vienna’s dynamic ecosystem. Led by Marlene Welzl and Gregor-Robert Posch, experts in startup services, the program provides a comprehensive array of resources, including interactive & hands-on workshops, intro to the local startup ecosystem, 1:1 coaching for individual questions, and networking with companies & stakeholders, according to the Vienna Startup Package website. For Twipes, led by founders CEO Alborz Bozorgi and COO/inventor Ellenor McIntosh, this program proved invaluable in navigating Vienna’s business landscape and forming strategic alliances.

ViennaUP: Uniting Global Innovators

Concurrently, Twipes participated in ViennaUP, a city-wide festival championing innovation and entrepreneurship. Under the leadership of Dudu Gencel, Team Lead for Startup City, ViennaUP brought together startups, investors, and industry leaders from across the globe. During this event, Twipes had the opportunity to connect with peers, showcase their sustainable solutions, and participate in workshops and pitch competitions. Franziska Kolk, Twipes’ coach within the ViennaUP framework, was able to share her insights and foster relationships crucial to Twipes’ future endeavors.

Business Setup Insights

During our stay, Twipes engaged deeply with critical organizations such as the Vienna Business Agency (VBA) and the Austrian Business Agency (ABA). This engagement was pivotal as Twipes sought to understand the intricacies of setting up a business within the European Union. Our primary attendee, CGO Elizabeth Kotoulis, immersed herself in month-long discussions and workshops, gaining valuable insights into regulatory frameworks and local business practices. Al, Elle, and Head of PR and Communications Adam Duke, each attending for a week, also contributed to Twipes’ understanding, collectively enriching their knowledge base.

Expanding Twipes’ Impact

Twipes’ journey in Vienna not only underscored the city’s vibrant startup ecosystem but also highlighted our dedication to sustainability. Al and Elle, driven by a passion for environmental stewardship, founded Twipes with a clear vision to revolutionize personal care products with eco-friendly alternatives. Their mission resonated deeply with Vienna’s principles of innovation and sustainability, making the city a natural fit for Twipes’ expansion.

Throughout their participation in the Vienna Startup Package, Twipes benefited immensely from the guidance of Marlene Welzl and Gregor-Robert Posch. These seasoned professionals provided crucial insights into navigating local regulations, accessing funding opportunities, and establishing strategic partnerships. Such support was instrumental in shaping Twipes’ growth strategy and solidifying our presence in the European market.

ViennaUP further enriched Twipes’ experience by offering a platform for global visibility and collaboration. Dudu Gencel’s leadership ensured that Twipes not only engaged with fellow startups and investors but also contributed meaningfully to discussions on sustainable innovation. Franziska Kolk’s role as a coach within ViennaUP enabled her to share Twipes’ journey and insights, fostering valuable connections that continue to drive our momentum forward.

Educational Exchange and Future Prospects

The educational exchange between Twipes and VBA/ABA during our Vienna journey was mutually beneficial. As Twipes sought practical insights into European business operations, VBA and ABA gained firsthand knowledge of Twipes’ innovative approach to sustainability. This exchange of ideas underscores Vienna’s role as a global hub for knowledge exchange and collaboration, where startups like Twipes find fertile ground to flourish and contribute to global sustainability.

Looking Ahead

As Twipes concludes our immersive experience in Vienna, the impact of our participation in both the Vienna Startup Package and ViennaUP is palpable. Armed with newfound connections, strategic insights, and a deeper understanding of Vienna’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, Twipes is well-positioned to scale our operations and make a lasting impact in the sustainability sector.

Vienna, with its blend of tradition and innovation, has proven to be an ideal launchpad for Twipes’ ambitions. With ongoing support from VBA, ABA, and the vibrant community cultivated by ViennaUP, Twipes is eager to continue our journey towards sustainable growth and global influence.

In a city where collaboration meets opportunity, Twipes’ journey exemplifies Vienna’s commitment to nurturing startups and pioneering solutions that address global challenges.
