This week, Twipes co-founder Alborz Bozorgi will embark on a university speaking tour that will span four states and schools, as he celebrates 10 years as CEO of the truly flushable wet wipes startup by giving back to young entrepreneurs.
The tour begins on March 12 in Miami, Fla., where Al will be giving a talk to entrepreneurial students from the StartupFIU program at Florida International University. His talk, titled “How early-stage startups can network their way to successful fundraising” will explain to young entrepreneurs strategies on how to connect with venture capitalists and other investors to grow their startups through networking.
At the end of the month, Al will be judging Clark University’s “Clark Tank” competition in Worcester, Mass. There, he will help fellow judges decide on which student startups will advance in the competition. Twipes also plans to meet with last year’s Clark Tank winner, Owen Chase, founder of Just For Fun Farms, a successful agricultural business, which produces microgreens for the Worcester community.
He will then head to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa. for a fireside chat with the school’s Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Association. A UEA student will ask Al questions about his entrepreneurial journey and his experience in business, followed by a Q&A with others in attendance.
The speaker tour will conclude in Shepherdstown, WV, where the Twipes team will attend the state’s Bridging Innovation week and Al will judge the West Virginia University-hosted IgniteWV competition, which is open to anyone 18 and older in the state, with the goal of providing budding entrepreneurs with education, skills, contacts, and motivation to grow their startups.
“I’m very excited about having the opportunity to give back to students and speak with young entrepreneurs as they start on a similar journey that I began with Twipes a decade ago,” Bozorgi said. “It’s so rewarding to see these students thrive and to provide any advice I can to help them on their own paths.”
