As the summer of 2024 comes to a close, we at Twipes reflect on the journey our interns embarked on these past few months. This season was a blend of learning, growth and hands-on experience. Our internship program has provided practical insights into our startup’s operations, and this summer was no exception.

Program overview

Our summer internship program at Twipes welcomed a diverse group of students from various academic backgrounds. They were integrated into our team, working on projects that not only contributed to their learning, but also added value to our company. From graphic design and marketing to sales and data analysis, the interns were given the opportunity to explore multiple facets of our business.

Real world experience

This year’s summer interns were involved in a range of tasks from day one. They participated in team meetings, contributed to brainstorming sessions and took on individual projects that created positive impacts on our operations.

Graphic Design: Our graphic design intern Ava worked on creating visuals for our marketing campaigns. “At Twipes this summer, I learned a lot about marketing and designing for a product’s different audiences,” Ava said, reflecting on her time here. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to create graphics for Twipes. This experience helped me learn how to apply feedback and continue iterating designs for different needs. I’m so thankful for the awesome team at Twipes and their trust in my creativity.”

Sales: Our sales intern Ari dived into sales analytics, data collection and outreach. “I learned a lot about how to collect sales analytics and data,” he said. “I also learned how to write cold emails and give sales pitches in-person to businesses. It was an amazing experience to learn how a startup runs, and I’m super thankful for my time at Twipes.”

Market Research: Madison, another sales intern, focused on market research and data visualization. “I learned a lot about how a business operates,” she said. “I learned more about market research and formulating a real data set that I made myself. I also got to code some real data visuals, which I had fun doing. I loved the relationships that I made here. … I also got to tag along with my coworkers while they did sales outreach to actual businesses, which was a fun and new experience. Most importantly, I’m considering going into market research in the future because I had fun while doing it, and I can incorporate it with data science.”

Marketing: Makayla, our marketing intern, contributed to content creation and campaign management. “Reflecting on my summer as a marketing intern at Twipes, I am grateful for the amazing experience,” she said. “Writing blog posts, newsletters and marketing campaigns enhanced my skills in a young, vibrant setting. The dynamic startup environment exposed me to the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship. The supportive from the innovative team at Twipes made this journey unforgettable, and I am thankful for the connections and friendships I have made.”

Learning and development

The interns were encouraged to take on challenges and learn from their experiences. They were provided with feedback and guidance, helping them to improve their skills and gain confidence in their abilities. The program emphasized real-world applications of their academic knowledge, giving them a taste of what it’s like to work in a dynamic startup environment.

Collaboration

One of the highlights of the internship program was the opportunity for cross-functional collaboration. Interns from different departments worked together on projects, gaining insights into how various functions within the company interact and support each other. This approach helped them understand the interconnectedness of business operations and prepared them for future career opportunities.

Impact and Contributions

The contributions of our interns were significant. Ava’s creative designs enhanced our visual identity, while Ari and Madison’s work in sales and market research provided us with valuable insights. Makayla’s efforts in marketing helped us communicate more effectively with our audience. Their work not only supported our current operations but also laid the groundwork for future initiatives.

Looking Forward

As we look back on the summer of 2024, we are proud of the growth and achievements of our interns. Their contributions have been invaluable, and their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives have invigorated our workplace. We are committed to continuing our internship program, providing students with meaningful experiences that prepare them for their future careers.
